Anaconda

The anaconda is the world’s heaviest snake, weighing 250 kilograms. It’s about nine metres long, and females are usually bigger than males. It’s found in South America where it lives in tropical rainforests and river valleys. It likes to lie in warm water, staying submerged for ten minutes at a time. It waits patiently to ambush birds and animals that come to drink, and that’s why its eyes and nostrils are on the top of its head.
